Scripture Focus: Romans 12:4-6

"For just as each of us has one body and many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body... We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us." — Romans 12:4-6

This week, we are looking at Romans 12:4-6 and the importance of understanding the "bigger picture" context of our spiritual gifts. Just like the human body, God has given us a mix of seven motivational gifts, and they all must work together for us to thrive in life and business.

Here are the three key takeaways from this week's study:

  1. Our Bodies Have Many Members: Each of the 7 gifts has a specific "function" (like the brain, heart, or spine). To use your primary gift effectively, you must direct your other six gifts to serve it, rather than stifling it.
  2. Our Members Don't Have the Same Function: Every gift requires different "nutrients" to thrive (e.g., Professors need time to think; Taskmasters need direction to execute). If you ignore the health of your primary gift, your business will eventually suffer from dysfunction.
  3. We Form One Body in Christ: Your gifts aren't just for your benefit; they are designed to glorify God and exponentially increase our Kingdom impact when combined with the gifts of others.

When we operate as God designed us and align our gifts with His calling, we nourish the body of Christ and receive an abundance of spiritual fruit in return.
